The Challenge
When MEISTER planned the relaunch of their website in 2015, one important aspect was to provide their audience something unique and bring marketing and communication to a whole new level.
Fine jewellery presents a specific digital challenge: static product photography cannot convey the interplay of light on different metals, the subtle variation between surface finishes, or the emotional weight of seeing a ring personalised with a chosen stone or engraving. For a brand whose entire identity is built on craftsmanship and individual creation, this gap between the physical product and its digital representation was a critical barrier to online engagement and conversion.
With the high level of personalisation and every product being created from the finest materials, MEISTER needed a jewelry configurator that not only depicted their products in all their beauty, but also gave website users the ability to visualise their full range of customisation possibilities — in real time, directly in the browser, without friction.
The Solution
To meet MEISTER’s need for an innovative and engaging way to showcase their products, VisCircle developed one of the first real-time jewelry configurators for wedding rings on the market. Built on WebGL technology, the solution runs entirely in the browser — no plugins, no downloads, no friction — across desktop and mobile.
We created optimised 3D models and lifelike materials for all ring collections, using physically based rendering (PBR) to accurately reproduce the reflective properties of gold, platinum and rose gold, as well as the full range of MEISTER’s surface finishes — from polished and satin to hammered and structured. Every material variant was modelled to respond correctly to light, giving customers a true-to-life preview of their chosen configuration.
This cutting-edge jewelry configurator allowed users to fully visualise and customise their rings in real time — selecting metal type, width, surface finish and stone setting — making it the ideal presentation method for MEISTER’s vast selection of ring variants. Colour, material and design changes were reflected instantly on the 3D model, giving customers the confidence to commit to a piece they had truly made their own.
The Additional Value
The results were immediate and significant. Shortly after launch, the website saw a 40% increase in visitors, with measurable improvements in both sales and distributor partnerships.
